With the outbreak of this news all of us are worried if we are one of the 6.5 million victims whose linkedin passwords have been stolen aren’t we?
Well, for people like us there is LastPass – a password management platform providing a free service that would let us check and know if our password was stolen. Here’s what we need to do:
Just click the link: https://lastpass.com/linkedin/And enter your password and check if it you were a victim or not, you will be shown a result something like this: If you have already changed your password great you can still check with your old password as this site checks with the leaked passwords.Since this is coming from a password management firm, we believe this to be secure. If you have not changed the password yet, it would be a good idea to change it even if it is not compromised by clicking here: www.linkedin.com/passwordReset
If you are using the same password for other sites (gmail, yahoo, facebook etc), then make sure you change all of them, since there is a definite possibility that hackers would try to use this password to hack into other accounts.
Remember : Passwords are like underwear – do not show them in public, the longer the better, do not share with others and keep changing often!!
