A part of life

Image
A famous music director - Shantanu Moitra writes about the God of music, who is a part and parcel of a million peoples' life.   Switching on the small tape recorder in my bachelors room with Roja’s Cassette was the first activity of every morning for 2 years.   Day would start with Yeh hasi wadiyaan, the sound still refreshes my mind and heart… as it does the millions of people and ends with Chanda Re Chanda re.   I used to wonder how can a human have such an impact consistently and that is when I realized it was ARR. I was feeling bad and dejected for not finding the sweet smelling mangoes and was walking back from a temple when I saw a woman selling mangoes in a small basket along the roadside and as I was nearing her, I could sense the sweet smell... the sweet smell of mangoes. Eureka! This smell transported me back to school days when I used to savor the same sweet smell with the report card (Eureka!) after the annual exams!
